MultiCare Allenmore Hospital Emergency Department Expansion

TACOMA, WA The project included both an internal renovation (700 SF) and expansion (14,738 SF) of MultiCare Allenmore Hospital’s existing Emergency Department. The new Emergency Department is designed to improve overall patient flow. The space includes an updated waiting room/lobby, as well as a separate ambulance and walk-in patient entrance. The expansion doubles treatment space allowing an additional 10,000 patients to be seen per year. Some services will be shared between the ED department and the recently completed crisis stabilization unit at the new 120 bed Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital (also designed by kmd).
